Sir, CAN anyone tell me why we rural folk have to contribute to the Greytown Municipality?

The P151 road from Seven Oaks to the Upper Umvoti School is supposedly a “tarred road”. However, it is actually a 17km stretch of serious potholes, and I mean serious, as some are huge, deep sections, which vehicles have to dodge and in so doing can cause a serious accident. The worst part is the latter section from the 10km mark to the Upper Umvoti School where there are well over a 100 potholes. This too is the area where pupils have to walk to get to school and are threatened by trucks and vehicles dodging the holes.

So where does the money from rates levied on the citizens of this rural area go? We don’t have any other facilities such as rubbish removal, or maintenance of any sort either.

Are we there just to subsidise the Greytown population?

Come on, either something must be done and soon or we will withhold rates.
