She’s a ‘petite’ winner

TITLES just keep coming her way, but talented Deante Swart is committing herself to showing that these pageant wins are not just about beauty and personality, but also about helping those less fortunate or in need.

Earlier this year she won the Face of Miss SA and featured as the first national princess and KZN winner in the Miss Junior Petite­ contest.

These wins were eclipsed during the June holidays when Deante­ took part in the Miss Africa­ competition and came second­, also winning the award for the best dressed in the national costume category as well as the best interview.

This was followed by the Miss Zululand competition where she won the title of Miss Zululand Petite­.

With her commitment to making use of her titles to help others, Deante is involved with Letcee, in particular the Izingane Zethu Centre it runs for 100 children near the Barracks.

Last week the centre celebrated Mandela Day early and among other volunteers Deante was there interacting with the little ones and helping to plant cabbage seedlings she had donated
