SIMPLY Models had a busy weekend celebrating Mandela Day and carrying out its 67 minutes of helping. On Friday 17 July some of our title holders joined the eMdlovana Youth Group for its Mandela Day event at the Izingane Zethu Centre where Miss Tiny Little Princess of SA KZN, Kayla Marais and Overall Model of KZN, Jayden Barnard, donated clothing and toys to the centre. It was loads of fun playing with the little ones and doing some face-painting.

On Mandela Day the models visited the Greytown SPCA and donated food, helped clean the cat cages, got the donkey’s beds ready, walked the dogs and collected hay. We thank the SPCA staff for having us and for caring so much about all animals.

Jayden and models of Simply Models are hosting a Women’s Day fund-raising event - “Be-you-tiful Be Brave”. Proceeds go to helping a lady with Guillain-Barre Syndrome to cover her medical expenses and rehabilitation to teach her how to walk again. The event will be on 8 August. Tickets are R100 each and will include a gift bag and lunch. This promises to be a event filled with enjoyment and useful information. There will also be a teenage make-up competition on the day, so if you want to become a make-up artist one day, enter this free competition

There will also be the crowning of the first Ms Curvy KZN at this event. Entries are now open, but close on 25 July. If you are a size 16 or above, please enter this pageant. We are also looking for people to advertise their business at the event and to do demonstrations. Contact any of the models of Simply Models or Luzanne on 083 280 9847.

The first round for the Ms and Mr Umvoti 2015 pageant closed, but we are still accepting limited entries - sponsorship forms available for entry fees and gifts. Winners can win a one-year contract, worth R3 000, with Simply Models, a portfolio shoot worth R1 500 and other prizes
