St Cathryn’s news

2015-05-13 06:00

GOLF on Mother’s Day is a no-no, so there were no golfers on the course on Sunday, but golf on Father’s Day is okay.

Thank you St Cathryn’s golfing mothers because without mothers you can’t have golfers and hope you had a happy day with your families.

The little rain that fell on Sunday, about 6mm, was well received by the golf course and we know farmers are needing dry weather for making hay while the sun shines.

The next Farmers’ Agri-Care Monthly Mug is to be played on Saturday 16 May, so let’s fill up the field and enjoy a relaxing round of golf.

Should you find medal play too intimidating, take on your partner in the Stableford section of the competition.

Please also be reminded that on 23 May golfers go into nation-building mode when the “boertjies and Pommies and Europe take on Africa” in the popular truly international friendly.

Cost is R200 per player and includes a braai pack afterwards to be braaied by the losing nation.

Please note the format is still to be decided, but a fun golfing day is promised for golfers.

Supper this Friday will be a Chinese braai. Bookings close on Thursday at 12pm. Please phone or SMS 083 269 1661 to book for golf and/or meals
