St Cathryn’s news

2015-08-05 06:00

DUE to the wet and misty weather the previous weekend, we were able to play the Sanlam Cansa challenge with slippery fast greens, but golfers still enjoyed this Sanlam- sponsored day. It was also good to see the father and son Manser combination and the seniors inter-club team out in full force.

B Division: first Brent Barkhuizen 32 points, second Jarad Manser 28 points, third Niel Manser 24 points

C Division: first Mike Harrison 33 points, second Piet Nel 31 points and third Rikus Kloppers 30 points

Ladies division Liekie Steyn 30 points

The next round of the Sanlam Cansa challenge is on 30 August at Princes Grant for the men - the ladies travel to Gowrie.

Results of the Farmers Agra Care Monthly Mug for July: first Mike Harrison nett 74nd Merwin Rabe nett 753rd Brent Barkhuizen nett 76.

Nearest to pin: 9th 18th Merwin Rabe.

The Khumalo Cup that was to be played on Sunday 9 August has been moved to a new date to be announced because Mr Dlamini requested the change as this now clashes with their change in their municipal golf tournament. We apologise to the development golfers as this was not a St Cathrynand#039;s change, but changes from outside.

On the golf course work has already started for preparation for the Hermannsburg School Golf Day to be played on Friday and Saturday 25 and 26 September. Golfers are invited to play in this annual fun-filled golf day and the format is 4BBBS and elect to play either in the Friday field or the Saturday.

This Friday there is curry and rice for supper. To book for golf and/or meals, phone Piet on 083 269 1661
