FOR its 67-minute campaign on Mandela Day 18 July, Mandela Umvoti Aids Centre personnel and the Department of Social Development’s Isibindi project team spent Saturday morning honouring Nelson Mandela by cleaning up the “Tin Town” area. They played and sang with the little ones, donated clothing and refreshments to those in need. The department staff also gave talks on health, hygiene and sanitation with demonstrations on the correct use of contraception for adults. Mr D. Turner, UAC director and employees, got their hands dirty as did many residents who joined in the clean-up. The event was also publicised on Radio Kwezi as was another event held by UAC’s Mr Bheki Magawaza. - Slindokuhle Mchunu
