UMVOTIand#039;S Thembi Madonsela and Patrick Oand#039;Sullivan are carrying on with a Mascor Umvoti Polocrosse Club legacy of representing South Africa in national and international polocrosse tournaments.

The 2015 World Cup is being played at Durban Shongweni Club over the first two weekends in July. Thembi is a reserve for the SA team and will play in the curtain-raiser to the World Cup tournament. Patrick is again the SA umpire who will be officiating in his second World Cup tournament, the last one being four years ago in England.

Team SA are the current world champs and will be defending their title on home ground. South African players are providing the horses, some 130 from all over the country, for the visiting teams. A few are coming from Zimbabwe and Zambia. Local players who have provided horses are Geoff Newlands, Colin Storey and Patrick Oand#039;Sullivan. The standard of play will be exceptionally high with spectacular skills and horsemanship on display.

A visit to the tournament could be a great family outing as there will be catering, stalls and facilities for children.

All games will be six-chukka games and start at 9am on Friday 3 July.

The programme for Saturday 4 July also starts at 9am when South Africa plays New Zealand at 2pm.

On Sunday 5 July tournament starts at 9am start and South Africa plays the U.S at 2pm.

The tournament starts again on Friday 10 July with four semi-finals starting at 8.30am and then every two hours. On Saturday 11 July there will be play-offs for the lower places at 10am and 2pm.

The finals take place on Sunday 12 July as follows: 10am - play-off for third and fourth place.

2pm - finals for first and second place
