WELCOME back to a fun-filled third term. There are numerous exciting activities taking place - a definite highlight being the annual Duck Derby on 11 and 12 September. Please buy your tickets as soon as possible.

During the holidays nine brave golfers attempted to complete 72 holes in a single day to raise money for the Wembley College Astro Clubhouse. Golfers were required to receive sponsorship for every hole they completed and then took to the course at 6am on Saturday 11 June.

Dieter Meyer, Josh Meyer, Mark Scott, Robin Furniss, Thuba Mzila, Alistair Goble, Mike Munitich, Peter Hardy and Gareth Larkan braved the disastrous weather conditions and proceeded to complete the challenge.

A special thank you must go to those who sponsored the golfers as it would not have been possible without them. Thanks also to the Greytown Country Club for allowing the golfers to play on the golf course.

A substantial amount of money was raised and will later be handed over at the Old Scholarsand#039; dance on 15 August.

To increase the amount of trees at the school and reduce Wembleyand#039;s carbon footprint, the biology department has created a tree-growing competition. Interested pupils will have from 3 August to 30 November, 2016 to increase its height, as this is the focus of this yearand#039;s competition.

The final height will be calculated from the apical bud to the ground, and support structures, such as staves, are allowed.

Please take note that this term we will be hosting the “Cultural Commotion”. Auditions will take place on 17 August and is open to the entire school.
