WEMBLEY is excited to host a senior primary golf development day on Saturday 17 October. This day allows the boys and girls to come and learn to play the game. Please encourage your sons and daughters from Grade 4 to Grade 7 to enjoy a fun day with us.

• Four ball comprises of three school pupils and one adult (teacher or parent). You may enter one or two pupils, but an adult is compulsory for your team to enter (it is up to the players to organise an adult to play in their team).

• 9 holes.

• Stroke play will be played (no handicaps) Player plays until 10 strokes then picks up his or her ball.

• Teams to bring their own set of clubs (one set may be shared by two players).

• Dress code: golf shirt.

• Free round for the adult accompanying the team.

• R20 entry fee for pupils.

Please contact the Wembley College Sports Department for further inquiries on sport@wembleycollege.co.za

On Tuesday, 13 October (weather permitting) Jack Yeadon, Qaphela Mzila, John Yeadon and Nkosi Dlamini will battle it out for the U13 and U11 tennis trophy respectively. Good luck boys.

Transfer Day has finally arrived!. All pupils will be visiting their next grade on Friday 16 October. Please drop your child off at their new grade classroom that morning. They will spend the morning with their new teacher and return to their current grade classroom at 11am. This is a fun way to get to know their next year’s teacher which will make the transition into their new grade less bumpy.

The Summer League Hockey Tournament started on Wednesday 7 October. It was fantastic to have everyone back at the astro again. This term’s summer league sees the largest number of teams entered to date with 14 teams comprising more than 170 players. Matches are played on Monday and Wednesdays from 5.15pm to 6.15pm at the Hannah Pride astro throughout the term.

Similarly the Tag-rugby league kicked off on Wednesday evening. This is the first time that Wembley, in conjunction with Let’s Tackle Rugby, have run this initiative. Boys from a number of schools between the ages of seven and 13 will participate in the league which takes place on Wednesday evenings simultaneously with the hockey.

It is wonderful to have so much activity at the sports fields in the evening and we look forward to the term ahead. We invite the Wembley family to come and support and enjoy the sport with us
