DURING the holidays Calista Muna played in the Dunlop Gauteng North Belgrave tournament in Pretoria. She finished 25th out of 39 entries and made it through to the semi-finals in the U14 doubles. She also played in the CF tennis tournament in Hilton, winning the U14 singles and U16 doubles.

Calista has been invited to the Mini Masters Series Finals on 24 and 25 October at Westridge.

She is currently ranked 125 in SA for U14 girls’ singles and fourth in KZN. In U14 doubles she is ranked 43 in SA and second in KZN. Congratulations Calista. keep up the good work.

Grade 4 pupils had a wonderful class camp at Glenrock and participated in many activities including fuffi sliding, archery, mud sliding, kayaking, subsistence farming demonstrations, visiting the 60-cow turntable milking operation and feeding many animals. The class was entertained by their own “Pedro” and “Papavroti” and enjoyed the food, braaiing marshmallows at the bonfire and meeting “Bob” and “Easy Tiger”.

Andrew Lubbe, in Grade 2, took part in a musical exam and performed his two pieces at our JP assembly. He explained how the recorder plays low and high notes. This was followed by a lovely performance which the children enjoyed. We congratulate and encourage Andrew in his recorder studies.

Keana Mackay had a R500 Midlands Mall voucher that she raffled for her R20 Grow project. The winning ticket was drawn and the voucher went to to Mrs Sally van Zuydam.
