Work together against crime

2015-05-20 06:00

THE public is urged, instead of complaining about the police, to work together with them through the Community Policing Forum. An annual general meeting is to take place on Tuesday 9 June in the Greytown Town Hall at 5pm.

Over the past months the number of break-ins during the day have increased and a number have been prevented through alert members of the public reporting to the police when they see or come across suspicious action. It is vital to ensure that the crime rate is reduced through proactive crime prevention enhanced by co-operation between the police and the community in the Community Policing Forum.

Greytown Station Commander Major N.J. Mchunu has extended an invitation to government departments, community stakeholders, faith-based organisations, taxi association representatives, non-profit organisations, Chamber of Business members, farmers’ association and all Greytown residents to attend the meeting.

At the AGM a new CPF will be elected to work in partnership with the police to prevent and combat crime

The station commander encourages the Greytown community to attend this meeting and to assist in creating a safe Greytown for all
