From the courts

2016-04-27 06:00

WITH a renewed effort to get people away from watching losing rugby teams on Saturday afternoons, the tennis club has made huge strides in getting new members and their children onto the courts. On every second Saturday of the month there is an open invitation to the public to dust off racquets and shed some sweat.

The courts have been a hive of activity as new members have joined in and children in particular have discovered new friends as the courts have been flood-lit into the evening for their enjoyment.
The next social tennis Saturday is 14 May, so come and join in the fun. Players can join in from 2pm, with non-players arriving after 5pm for socialising.

The popular farmers vs town tournament was put on hold last Sunday due to the Zuma marathon, and will be rescheduled to a future date to be announced.

Club championships will start in early May, and members are urged to please get their entries in as soon as possible.
