From the Courts

ON Sunday 4t December the Greytown Tennis Club hosted their annual Roley Hill Men’s doubles tennis tournament. The tournament has become a firm favourite for out of town players, who made up the majority of the field, with local players having to raise their games to compete with the influx of strong players. The overall standard of tennis was very high and made for some exciting viewing for spectators.

The A Division was an extremely close affair with Gareth and Brett Arnold finally pipping Derek Brown and Clint Cotton at the post to take the trophy. The B Division was won by Laurie Butlin and Ricky Buwalda with Ashley Cotterrell and Brett Shaw as the runner ups. The C Division was comfortably won by Murray Dell and Vic Govender with a fierce tussle for second place where Pierre Steyn and Thuba Mzila snuck ahead of Mark Thomas and Herman van Rooyen..

We would like to thank our sponsors Mascor and Vryheid Petroleum for their valued and continued support of this event, the out of town players for supporting the tournament, Ashley Cotterrell for organising the tournament and Joanie Koller (and her team) for preparing and hosting the delicious meal.
