From the ditch

COLLEGIANS visited Greytown on Saturday for the first men’s league match of the season and what a thriller it was too.
Tony Smith, Jacques Minnaar, Chris Fischer and Wolfie Lubowitz came out of the starting blocks with a 5-0 lead. From then on it was a battle royal as the scores levelled all the way to 17-17, two ends to play, and 18-18 in the end.

On Sunday NIBA pairs were played – Jacques Minnaar and Chris Fischer lost all three matches to the closest margins as did Tony Smith and André Roberts.

However, the ladies were on a winning streak – Sannie Balzer and Erika Fischer won all their games and go through to the next round.

Karen Cordy is still waiting for club members to contact her for the gala dinner and annual prize giving on Saturday 30 January. Please phone her to book on 084 582 1204.
