From the ditch

IT was a full field for the popular Ultra Liquors bowls tournament on Women’s Day in sunny weather, and everything went like clockwork.

The winning teams from the first game were pitted against each other, so only three teams could win both games.

In third place were Sannie and Elizabeth Balzer and Wendy Edkins, on 4 plus 8 points.

Winners had to be decided on a count-out, with both teams on 4 plus 18. Coming out second were Gerhard Balzer, Mirelle and Gysie Moolman.

Overall winners were Clive Edkins Dave Bloy and Lynda Drogemoller also on 4 plus 18, but with a bigger win in the second game.

Thank you to Chris Fischer and Ultra Liquors for a great day.

Besides the wonderful tea there was a lamb and wors braai cooked by Kobus Uys and James de Nysschen.
