THE Men’s Niba Mini League continued on Saturday and Tony Smith, Chris Fischer, Jacques Minnaar and Herbert Balzer played against a team from Pietermaritzbug West.

Once again they did the club proud by defeating West by 29-20.
This weekend the men have a bye and play will continue the following Saturday.

Sannie Balzer and Erika Fischer played in the Niba Ladies pairs quarter-finals against Rose Varty and partner and won - they will now play in the semi-finals next weekend.

The Niba bowlers are now also preparing for the quadrangular, which is due the first weekend of February.

A final reminder that entry forms for the Niba mixed 4's is on the notice board.

Eight bowlers kept the home guard flag flying with a classics fours game on Saturday.
Bryan Paul, Jack Drew, Irvin Brunkhorst and Karen Cordy played against Wessel Pretorious, Roy Thomson, Wolfie Lubowitski and Schalk Jacobs.
At tea the score was 12-12 and edged to 17-17 before the final two ends, won by Bryan's team, who naturally had to buy the drinks.
