From the ditch

2017-02-01 06:02

THERE was a turnout of six bowlers on Saturday - Bryan Paul, Roy Thomson and Schalk Jacobz played Jack Drew, Wessel Pretorius and Wolfie Lubowitski and at half time Bryan’s team was 16-6 up, but the final result was 17 all.

On Sunday Sannie Balzer and Erika Fischer played in the Niba ladies open semi-finals at Maritzburg West. They played against Marinda Opperman and Rene Mykleburst. It was gruelling game, on a very fast and wide green. Unfortunately, they lost against the West team 21-16 but then played against another West team - Dawn Eastthorpe and Della van Biljon, whom they beat to take third place.

This weekend is the quadrangular, and we wish Greytown bowlers, Chris Fischer, Jacques Minnaar, Tony Smith, Erika Fischer and Omo Dinkelmann the best of luck in this tournament.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Bryan Paul after his accident - hopefully he will be back on the greens soon.
