HISTORY was made at Greytown Primary School on 26 November when the school’s first Grade R graduation took place.

The graduation celebration was a heartwarming function as Grade R pupils entertained parents with renditions of poetry and song. The function was well attended by parents and well-wishers.

On 30 November Greytown Primary School held a successful awards evening at Greytown Town Hall. The school choir, led by Mrs Z.L. Myaka, entertained the audience throughout the evening.

The annual report highlighting the achievements of the school was presented by the principal, Mr. J. Moonsamy. Besides an exceptionally successful academic year, extra and co-curricular achievements of the pupils were also recognised.

Pupils participated in the Astro Quiz, Spelling Bee, language competition and athletics both at district and provincial levels, bringing many accolades to the school.

The chairperson of the School Governing Body, Mr B Madonsela in his address indicated that the parents were extremely happy that pupils were holistically developed at Greytown Primary School.

The keynote speaker was the Chief Education Specialist Miss N.E. Mkhize. Her address was inspirational and motivating for pupils and teachers. She stressed upon the need for the school stakeholders to maintain the high levels of success the school has achieved since the appointment of Mr J. Moonsamy as the head.
