Greytown Country Club news

2016-10-26 06:00

GREYTOWN Country Club has been fortunate to receive funds again from the National Lottery to aid with the development of the game of golf and keep the game affordable, especially for our development players.
The grant will be used to subsidise league participation and the subs and entry fees of our development players, and to purchase golf equipment and course maintenance equipment.
We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank the National Lotteries Commission for allocating a grant to us again.

The Mascor-NLC Monthly Mug was played early this month due to the popular Greytown Golf Classic, which will take place on 5 November.
The entry list is up on the board at the club and we urge players to enter early to avoid disappointment.
A good field of 23 players, despite the Currie Cup final being played at 4pm, enjoyed a bright and sunny late spring day on Saturday. The winner of the Mug and B division was Tubby Larkan on 66 net and second was a welcome visitor from Noodsberg, Lawrence Savage on 68 net.
A division first, Oscar Ndawonde 73 net oco from Boy Zuma. It was great to see Oscar playing again after the serious road accident he was involved in.
Thank you to Mascor for sponsoring our Monthly Mug.
We urge golfers to assist green keeper Wally in his preparations for the classic by repairing all your divots on the tee boxes and pitch marks, which are starting to show on the greens.

It has arrived - it is the time to see Die Heuwels Fantasties at the club on Friday. R200 a ticket or R220 on the night. Get your tickets early. The children’s home will be selling food as fund-raising. Please support this worthy cause.
The club will be closed for members, only ticket holders will be allowed in from 6pm. We hope to see you at the club on Friday night.

Tessa Harman lost out the cash from the members draw on Friday as she was not present at the time of the draw.
The next attendance draw will be on Friday 4 November with R300 up for grabs.
