THE Greytown Feeding Project chairman D.R. Aheer put the finishing touches to the GFP Hall, which means that once again much-needed nutritious meals will be provided to the many in need in Greytown thanks to the voluntary work of the committee, sponsors and supporters.

Next Thursday 9 June from 11.30pm meals will be prepared and served to the needy, the indigent, sick, unemployed, seniors, pensioners and vulnerable children. These will be prepared by Gift of the Givers Foundation together with the Greytown Feeding Project personnel.

Thousands have benefitted previously and will again and for them the twice weekly meal is often the only hot nutritious food they receive in the week.

A reminder to those gainfully employed - this is a feeding scheme for the disadvantaged with minimum or no income.

The response from local businesses, individuals, Gift of the Givers and the GFP committee has all contributed to the establishment of the new premises which will be used not only for meals, but will also be a venue for skills training such as gardening, sewing, knitting, building, plumbing, carpentry etc.

Any charitable organisation wishing to make use of the hall for feeding schemes etc., should contact Mr Aheer on 082 778 0282.

It is fitting that the project's prime mover, Mr D.R. Aheer, will celebrate his birthday on opening day - the community owes him and the many voluntary workers a big thank you for their wonderful work in caring for those in need.
