Heritage Day alerts

2017-09-20 06:01

HERITAGE Day falls on Sunday 24 September and is a double date with Monday 25 also being celebrated as Heritage Day and as a public holiday.
This means, of course, early advertising deadlines for the Greytown Gazette of 27 September - tomorrow please, Thursday at 1pm for display advertising and 10am on Friday for classifieds.

An appeal to schools, sports, general reports and photographs to be submitted on Friday please. We will do whatever possible to publish any sports news received on Monday.

Heritage Day is also known as Braai Day. National spokesperson for the day, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu said: “It's a fantastic thing - just South Africans doing one thing together and recognising that we are a fantastic nation."

The Greytown Gazette will publish a report on heritage sites in the area next week and will also confirm details of the Umvoti Municipality Heritage Day celebrations.
