Hermannsburg Happenings

2016-06-08 06:00

OVER the course of the past week, the Grade 10 pupils in Germany quickly adapted to the efficient public transport, which runs on time and waits for no one.
They took a guided tour of the old city of Reutlingen, which dates back as far as the 11th century, before visiting the university city of Tübingen and then moving on to Metzingen where they visited the “Sieben Keltern” - a world heritage site, untouched by the bombing during World War 2, which includes a wine-pressing museum and the city library, as well as being an active marketplace. They are looking forward to the remaining two weeks of their sojourn.

In rugby news, the U16 Sevens team played at Wartburg against Curro Richmore (24-5), Faithway (5-20) and Waterfall (40-0). On the hockey front, the Grade 1 and 2 girls played at New Hanover against Wartburg (1-0), Greytown (3-0), Wembley (4-0) and New Hanover (1-0). Meanwhile, the mini-hockey girls played a friendly game which they won 1-0 before engaging Epworth A (1-2), Treverton (0-3), Cowan House (1-0) and Epworth B (0-0).

The June examinations got into full swing this week, and we wish those who are writing examinations clear memories and good recall.
