AS hard as it may be to believe, almost another year has slipped by and it was time again last Friday to honour the achievements of our Grade 12 pupils at their awards ceremony when roud parents, teachers and pupils congratulated award winners on their fine achievements. Imke Marx was awarded half-colours for hockey, the Matric Trophy and the Ernst Schütze Trophy for service above self. Riaan Olivier was awarded a merit certificate for academics, full colours for athletics and the Gert & Wynina Jansen van Vuuren Trophy for Afrikaans. Ayanda Nzama was awarded full colours for environmental studies and honours for her membership of the KZN Midlands Youth Choir.
Rupert Meyer was awarded honours for his membership of the KZN Youth Choir. Fezile Gumede was awarded honours for soccer. Danielle Schweiger was awarded full colours for athletics and honours for her membership of the KZN Youth Choir. Terry-Lynn Costello was awarded half-colours for academics, full colours for athletics, the Lombardozzi Trophy for life orientation and the Ulrich Prigge trophy for German second additional language. Tabea Röhrs was awarded half-colours for academics, the Edith Clark Memorial Trophy for English, the W&K Schröder Language Proficiency Trophy for overall proficiency in English, German and Afrikaans, the Du Preez Advanced Programme English Book Prize, the KwaZulu-Natal Deutscher Kulturrat Prize for German home language and the dux trophy for 2016.

The farewell for the Class of 2016 continued on Saturday evening when the Grade 12s showed off their finest and most elegant dress at the annual matric dance. Guests were transported to vibrant, colourful India and Bollywood, thanks to Grade 11 pupils, their parents and the teachers who planned, guided and raised funds with them throughout the year.
A pleasant evening of fine fare and dancing ended all too soon and we wish the class sound memory and total recall as they start the IEB examinations this week.

On the sporting front, our U15 Titans cricket team took on Wartburg, making 64 for 6 (David Torgius 26). Wartburg replied with 65 for 3 to win a match notable for the good sportsmanship displayed. Well done.
