WE are proud of our young leaders, who have stepped up the mark and been elected prefects for 2017 - Hugh Bouwer, Christel Brüggemann, Luke Hayward, Chantal Jonker, Sven Klar, Meike Meyer, Jordan Pope and Michelle van Rooyen.

Congratulations to them and their parents - we wish them strength, courage and wisdom as they take on their new roles within our school family. The head prefects will be announced at our high-school awards ceremony, as is customary.

Our primary school cricketers made 47 all out against New Hanover, to which New Hanover replied with 49 runs in their allotted 10 overs, to win the match by seven wickets.

Last Wednesday turned out to be a very bright, pink day as our pupils donned pink clothing and had their hair sprayed pink in aid of cancer awareness.

Thank you to Mrs Penny Waller for organising the fund-raising, which raised R2 060 for Choc Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (a charity supported by the late Michelle Redinger).
Thank you also to Mrs Kirsty Pope for the donuts and to Hair by Shireen for sponsoring the hairspray.
