OUR primary school team (Siena Kimble, Benjamin Rabe and Julian Königkrämer) took part in the Epworth Mudman on March 5 at Albert Falls dam in the U14 category and were placed fourth in their age group.

It was a very hot day, but they did very well and were on the track for just over an hour; well done, we are very proud of them. Mike Terry also took part, in the 40+ category, canoeing, cycling and running. Thanks to Epworth for a well-run and organised event.

The primary school cricketers took on Greytown Junior, who made 113 for 7 (Benjamin Rabe 2/7, James Waller 2/17).

Hermannsburg replied with 63 all out (Julian Königkrämer 15) to lose by 50 runs.

On Saturday, the girls’ 1st team played hockey against Wartburg (0-6), Wembley (0-2) and Dundee (1-2) over the weekend, in their first matches of the season.

Eight schools participated in the E-Gala at Epworth last Thursday, with most of the events being relay races (only five individual events), including mixed age-group medley and freestyle relays.

Despite the rain, the swimmers and officials persevered, and all the swimmers enjoyed the gala — some personal bests were recorded and goals achieved.

Thank you to Epworth for hosting the gala - the pupils also loved the “splashes” and biscuits.
