THE Welsh are well known for their love of singing, and so it was a special privilege for a group of our pupils to represent our school in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands Youth Choir, as it participated in the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in Wales.
Apart from seeing the sights, performing at various opportunities and even participating in a singing “street march”, the choir was awarded first place in the “Cultural Showcase” category, and fourth place in the “Children’s Folk Song Choirs” category.
Congratulations to the choir and to our choristers for the splendid performances (information and photographs taken from www.facebook.com/kznmidlandsyouthchoir/).

We are geared up and looking forward to another successful term ahead - the Grade 12s will be working hard to prepare for their trial examinations, and we wish them strength and fortitude for the task.
Of course, academic work will be the focus for all our pupils, but we also look forward to the national Enviroquiz, Hermannsburg Eisteddfod, the inter-house athletics and other athletics meetings, soccer and hockey fixtures, the KZN Midlands Youth Choir performance in Hermannsburg, the Opa and Omi Day in the Kindergarten, the Synod of the Lutheran Church, our high school play and the 25the HMB Golf Day at St Cathryn’s, among other activities, that will keep everyone busy this term.
