Hermannsburg Happenings

2017-08-23 06:01

CONGRATULATIONS to Erich Ortmann, who has been chosen to play for the U16 KZN Duikers rugby team. Erich has been playing rugby at the Collegians Youth Rugby Club in Durban, and will soon be representing his province at the inter-provincial tournament in Pretoria.

In tennis news, our girls’ team won by 28 games to 18 against Wembley College last week - Awande Mbuli, Jemma Hayward, Lydia Köhne and Clara Kohrs.

With the mid-term break having given pupils and teachers a breather, it’s been back to work this week, with the Grade12 pupils preparing for their trial examinations starting next week. We wish them well for these important examinations.
It’s not just the academic work that is being undertaken with renewed energy - the KZN Midlands Youth Choir performs in Hermannsburg (with our school choirs) on Thursday, 24 August, fresh from their success in Wales in July. Tickets, at only R60 per person, are still available on 074 125 0054).
Our athletes will be competing in the co-ed athletics meeting on Saturday 26 August, on Monday, 28 August when schools will compete in the HMB Eisteddfod at Hermannsburg, which will be followed by the Grade 12 music pupils’ portfolio concert. And that’s just the week ahead, without mentioning the soccer and tennis matches our pupil will be playing in.
