Hermannsburg Happenings

ON 28 August our music department held the fourth annual HMB Eisteddfod, to which a number of schools were invited.
Mr Gérard’d du Toit (choral director of the KZN Youth Choir) adjudicated and offered some expert feedback to all participating pupils.
This was a great opportunity for our pupils to practise their exam pieces for the upcoming ABRSM (Royal Schools) practical exams.
Pupils from the primary and high school took part, and entries ranged from Grade 1 to Grade 8 practical level, performed on a variety of instruments. We look forward to hosting an even greater eisteddfod next year.

On the evening of 28 August, our IEB music pupils in Grade 12 gave their final recitals in preparation for their final exam this month.
Rhonda Christiansen, Meike Meyer, Jordan Pope and Elisabeth Tönsing gave excellent renditions of their Italian, German and musical theatre works, demonstrating their hard work and talent, and took the opportunity to prepare for their Grade 7 and 8 singing exams for the ABRSM. We wish them all the best for their final practical.

Our singers and actors are rehearsing at every opportunity for the upcoming supper theatre, titled A Pig’s Tale, which promises to be another polished production. The show is on Thursday 21 September at 7pm (supper at 6pm
