PRIZE-GIVING was a great success last Thursday as the school proudly celebrated 21 years since its establishment.

Principal Mrs Mngadi said this year had been one of the most fruitful. Teachers and pupils worked tirelessly to earn good results academically and in extracurricular activities. She congratulated all the top achievers. Among the pupils who achieved the most awards were Mntungwa Msizi from Grade 5 who got three, Malevu Qiniso from Grade 4 got four, Myaka Simnikiwe from Grade 6 got three and Gwala Lungiswa from Grade 7 received four.

Former principal of the school, Mr M.P. Ndlovu, was the guest speaker and told the history of the school. He said the success of the school was due to the first SGB and teaching staff who laid a solid foundation, and sought a trend that had been followed to this far. “Many teachers have left this school for greener pastures, but each new teacher fits well in the establishment.” He concluded by acknowledging the academics that have been produced, highlighting Khulekani Khumalo who has achieved a lot from a faculty of law and is currently doing his PHD degree at UKZN.

On behalf of the school Mr N.I. Ngubane thanked businesses who partnered with the school this year. These included CWP Security, Plennegy, Umvoti Municipality (Ngcebo Maphanga and Khaya Goge), Tovem Church, Land Bank, Min Cash, Aheers, Muden Agricultural Co-op and Mbanjwa Catering. Elen’s Team and Ms Madlala were thanked for the prayer sermons they provide weekly. - H.W. Xulu.
