ON Friday, 4 December Greytown Junior School held its annual prize giving to commemorate and award the schools top achievers both in the classroom and on the sports field.

The hall was filled with anxious and excited pupils, parents, family and friends.

Beginning with a report on the school’s progress by the senior primary HOD, Mrs R. Chetty, the ceremony moved on with light entertainment from the school’s choir followed by the junior primary and senior primary awards.

Pupils were awarded for their hard work and their excellent achievements showed our pupils always “aim high”.

Our guest of honour, Mr Jarrod Cronjé, reminded pupils that it is possible to aim high and take opportunities to achieve their goals. He also highlighted that every pupil has the responsibility and the potential to excel.

The recipients of the dux, Kaden Moonsamy, sports boy Michael Thompson and sports girl Aaliyah Hattia, were true examples of dedication, determination and self- motivation.
