ON Saturday 13 May, the U10 rugby boys played at Piet Retief. The boys played well but lost 10-5. They need to work on their defence and resolve to do better in their next game.

The U13 rugby side also played against Piet Retief on Saturday. Greytown had a great start scoring three early tries. The half-time score was 19-0. Piet Retief, however, came back much better in the second half and tries were scored by both teams. The final score was 31-31.

On Tuesday 16 May the Grade 1 and 2 hockey girls took part in a hockey tournament at Wembley College. The girls enjoyed the tournament and learnt a lot.

RESULTS:

Grade 1: vs Wembley lost 4-0

vs Treverton won 2-0

vs New Hanover lost 2-0

vs Wembley won 1-0

Grade 2: vs Wembley Draw 0-0

vs New Hanover drew 0-0

vs Wembley lost 1-0

vs Treverton lost 1-0

On Wednesday 17 May our mini-rugby teams played against Wembley College. An afternoon of fun and excitement was enjoyed by all. The Grade 1 side lost 5-0 to Wembley. The Grade 2 side had a tough game and won 25-30.

Greytown Junior School is delighted to receive a sponsorship of a new rugby kit for the first rugby side, from Brokersure.
