OUR junior primary inter-house athletics meeting was held on Friday 4 August. Grade R to Grade 3 pupils participated in a variety of activities, including sprint and novelty races. 
The day was filled with excitement and energy for both pupils and parents. Congratulations to junior victor ludorum, Bayanda Madlala and junior vitrix ludorum,  Nontobeko Mbatha. 
The winning house for the day was Grant with Okes taking the Spirit Cup for team spirit. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the large number of parents and grandparents who came to support our little ones.
On Friday 4 August we hosted our annual inter-house athletics meeting. With the weather in our favour Grant and Okes competed in field and track events. Junior victrix ludorum was Thembekile Kubheka, junior victor ludorum was Cassius Yu, best U13 athlete award went to Elihle Dlomo, best overall field athlete award went to Nthando Makhaye. Senior victrix ludorum went to Zamangethe Zwane and senior victor ludorum went to Nthando Makhaye. Grant won the Spirit Cup and Okes was overall winner. A special thank you to athletes, parents and staff for making the day a success.

On Saturday 5 August the U11 and U13 soccer girls participated in a tournament held by Wembley College.  The U11 soccer girls played four games. The first game was played against Cowan House’s 2nd team, here we drew 1-1. 
The second game we drew 0-0 against Cowan House’s 1st team, in the third game we won 1-0 against St Johns and in the fourth game we won 2-0 against Wembley.

The U13 soccer girls played three games. In the first game we lost 2-0 against Wartburg. The second game we drew 2-2 against Cowan House’s  2nd team and in the third game we lost 1-0 against Cowan House’s 1st team.

On 31 July Greytown Junior School celebrated Mandela Day by collecting recycling material to be donated to the Youth Care and Development Centre (Kinderhuis). 
This initiative was supervised by Mrs D.W. Mzila and served not only to celebrate Mandela Day, but also remind our children to reuse, reduce, recycle and renew.
