ON Saturday, 12 March New Hanover Prep hosted the 13th annual bass fishing competition. This event has grown into the biggest bass fishing competition in South Africa with this year boasting 944 anglers.
Participants enjoyed the beautiful scenery this area has to offer while fishing at 18 private farm dams.

Winner of the adult category was Freddy Landman with his 60cm bass, and the junior winner was Liam Daff.

Families spent a wonderful day together on the side of the dam, enjoying the lovely weather, scenery and company. From professional fishermen to children learning to cast for the first time, the bass competition is always a highlight on the school calendar for all involved.

The school extends its gratitude to event organiser, Dieter Oellermann, the New Hanover community, parents and the many sponsors who made this event possible.
