‘Shoppers’ turn into robbers

2017-09-13 06:00

TWO female “shoppers” were the front for an armed robbery which took place at Milady’s last Friday afternoon as the store was closing for the day.

Just before 5pm two females and a male entered the shop - the ladies took some clothing and went into the change rooms.

The staff told the man the store was closing and he walked towards the change rooms, but produced a firearm. The two “shoppers” bundled and locked the three staff in the toilets.

While the armed robber took cash and the staff’s cellphones the “shoppers” helped themselves to a range of clothing - they then walked out.

Some minutes later the three staff, “hearing the silence”, managed to get out and ran down to the police station to report the robbery.

Fortunately, the staff were not hurt, but are very traumatised and are receiving counselling.

Although the shops in the vicinity had already closed for the day the police are appealing to anyone, who might have seen the robbers, to come forward.
