St Cathryn’s news

2015-12-02 06:00

A SMALL field ventured out in the rather cooler than normal temperatures to play in the Farmers’ Agri-Care monthly mug on Saturday 28 November and our ladies golf captain turned out to be the winner. All golfers were told in no uncertain terms by Liekie that she was carrying a shoulder and knee injury and she had received medical treatment, and she still she won.

Currently the greens are a little bumpy and now with no water to irrigate, the greens are somewhat hard. No spring treatment yet, only the little verti-cutting that has taken place. Greens are cut at 4.2 mm and due to the hot and dry, and sometimes the cold, weather greens can’t be cut shorter and the green-keeper is trying to avoid damage to the grass surface.

Results:

1st Liekie Steyn 72 nett

2nd Piet Nel 82 nett

3rd Brent Barkhuizen 90 nett

Captains Putter asked to remain anonymous.
