THE August Farmers’ Agri-Care Monthly Mug was played in blustery conditions with a fire danger index of "Code Orange", on Saturday 13 August.

The green keeper decided to only enter the stableford competition as he felt the fire danger and strong winds would affect his game - it did, but not as he thought it would.

Mug results:

1st: Lawrence Savage nett 73 o.c.o. (Piet Nel would have had nett 69)

2nd: Neill Manser

3rd: Keith Stanger nett 74

4th: Merwin Rabe nett 76

5th: Badger Aherin nett 77

Captain’s Putter: Liekie Steyn

Nearest to pin 9/18: Liekie Steyn.

Best Stableford: Neill Manser 40 points, Piet Nel 38 points.

Thank you to our sponsors Farmers’ Agri-Care, Up one Farming and Dr Rikus Kloppers for the wine.

We have been taught that we need three meals a day in order to make it through the day and while most of us indulge in more than our fair share there is a large portion of South Africans who are living off barely enough to sustain them.
