St Cathryn’s news

2017-04-05 06:02

A "MIXED bag" of golfers played golf at St Cathryn's over the weekend in the annual Arcadia golf tournament over at the two local courses.
Golfers came from Noodsberg, Mooi River, Pietermaritzburg, and of course, the local golfers from the two clubs.

Saturday the golfers set off at 11.30am on a shotgun start with a very interesting format normally played at Interclub.

The two golfers handicaps were added together, divided by two to get an average handicap for the team of two players.
Golfers were then to play off scratch, scoring two points for a par, one point for one over and zero points for a double bogey, should you have scored a birdie, three points would be your score.
At the end of the day, you take your final better ball score, then add the average handicap to that score and the biggest total secured the winners on the day.

Thank you to all sponsors and players for their support and a big thank you to Dieter Meyer who organised this annual day.

Results will be published elsewhere in the Greytown Gazette.

On 15 April St Cathryn's will be playing the next Farmers’ Agri-care monthly mug and on 29 April will be the popular St Cathryn's Classic, with a better-ball format.
