THE welcome rains that have started falling have given the course a nice green flush (and more rain is expected this week.)

Light verti-cutting has commenced on the greens and the hollow tining date hasn’t been set yet as the dam is still too low to irrigate.

Seventy eight golfers took part in the annual Hermannsburg School Golf Day played over the weekend of September 22 and 23. The Friday field had very hot and windy conditions with a complete change of weather on Saturday with cold and wet conditions.

The winners in the better ball competition were Greytown golfer John-Lloyd Rawstorne and brother-in-law from Richmond country club, Paul Howells.

St Cathryn’s was busy this past Sunday with three groups of bikers, who had booked for breakfast. The golfers on the course had some impressive bikes to look at - thank you all for your visit.

This Saturday October 14 its the Farmers’ Agri-care Monthly Mug with tee-off from 9am onwards. Please contact Piet if you would like to play on 083 269 1661. This will also be a good practise run for the inter-club team - let Piet know what time you can play.
