ST David's Diocesan School held its prize giving on 3 December. Families, friends and guests were treated to Christmas carols sung by the pupils.

The highlight of the evening was a performance by the choir of two special items - The New Jerusalem and Allelujah. The choir was trained and conducted by Mrs Claire Lagerwall.

Each Grade 1 pupil received a story book for completing the first year at school. .

The following pupils received certificates:

Grade 3: Anele Ntshingila: Academic Excellence; Awande Ntshingila: Outstanding All-Rounder; Jacob Turner: Mathematics; Melokuhle Mvelase, Anele Mavundla: Progress

Grade 4: Chante Brown, Zanamhla Ndlovu, Sandisiwe Makhatini, Lindelwa Mhlongo: Academic Achievement

Grade 5: Alzanne Barnard: Academic Achievement; Shanice Mutakiwa: Diligence; Victor Mpofu: Conscientious Effort; Mordecai Nsele: Conscientious Effort; Nontobeko Vuma: Perseverance; Dumisani Simamane­: Mathematics.

Grade 6: Leigh-Anne Boshoff: Academic Excellence; Nokubonga Zwane, Lungelo Sithole, Asanda Mbatha, Ayakha Bhengu: Academic Achievement; Aphiwe Shange: Diligence; Nkosinathi Ngubane: Conscientious Effort.

Mr M. Mkhize, guest of honour, presented the Special Awards to Grade 7. St David's thanks sponsors for their generosity.
