Start of the rainy season?

2017-09-27 06:00

ON Monday evening there was thunder, lightening, and rain, rain, rain – not nearly enough, but hopefully the start of what used to be the traditional rainy season in Umvoti.

At the time of going to press, in the past two weeks, 26mm had been recorded by Murray Mason on the outskirts of Greytown - not quite so much in the town itself but it is still raining.

Lake Merthley had dropped to 40.93% last week.

Just as a matter of monitoring the weather forecast for the next week - 19°C today (rain predicted) dropping to 13°C Thursday (with rain) and up again to 29°C on Friday with a lets-hope-its-true forecast of thunderstorms.

Down again on Saturday to 17°C and the upper 20s until next Wednesday October 4 when rain is forecast.

Maybe there is a possibility that weather forecasters are no longer distributing “fake news”.
