THE Umshwati Municipality is planning action to discuss all the challenges in regard to the implementation of its water structure and in this regard Mayor Siphindile­ Mbhele and Councillors recently held a meeting with the uMngungundlovu District Infrastructure Committee, led by Mayor Thobekile Maphumulo.

The group visited the water power stations to monitor progress being made and check that the project is moving forward smoothly.

"Looking at the work that has been done now, we can proudly say the dawn is about to come for all uMshwathi citizens to have clean water," said Mbhele.

The community and travellers on the Pietermaritzburg road can witness see the progress as they view the work being carried out along the main road.

Another landmark was the provision of electricity at Nadi, Umshwati Ward 3 ,which was launched two weeks ago.

The uMshwathi Municipality is in consultation regarding the visitation of all 14 wards so that the community can inform the municipality of their needs.

Dates of these IDP meetings will be communicated in each ward as soon as they are confirmed.
