Umvoti football Easter tournament

THERE was lots of action at King Edward Park over the Easter weekend as 16 teams from Umvoti competed in the two-day Easter tournament, which was played in a round-robin format with four teams in each section.

The first semi-final was between Amatimatolo Experience and Red Devils from Kranskop, which Amatimalo Experience won on penalties 7-6 after the game ended in 1-1 draw. The second semi-final between One Touch and Super United also ended in a 1-1 draw. One touch FC advanced to the final after they won 4-3 on penalties.

Amatimalo Experience went into the final as the favourite, howeve, One Touch had the upper hand in the game, but failed to capitalise after two chances and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

One Touch, the master of penalties, won the final by 4-3 on penalties.

The tournament was sponsored by Umvoti Municipality and Umvoti Mayor Thami Ngubane­ who presented the prizes.
