Water update

2016-12-07 06:01

MUCH of the good achieved by the 147mm rainfall recorded by Grant Gifford in November in Greytown was sucked up by the weekend’s intensive heat.

The level of Lake Merthley on Monday was 28.52% - still a long way to go.

Residents might recall that several months ago, at a special water meeting called by Umzinyathi and Umvoti, the municipal manager of the former and the Mayor of Umvoti informed the audience that three contractors working on the pipeline had been fired, that new ones were being appointed and the pipeline could be operating by September … or at the latest December!
