Window on Wembley

ON Tuesday, 1 March the Umvoti team competed in the co-ed gala. Despite excellent performances from our swimmers, the Umvoti team came fourth, although Luke and Tayla Poreé received victor ludorum U14 boys’ and victrix ludorum U16 girls’ respectively.

We are also very proud of Ludwig Herbst, our victor ludorum winner, and Joshua Cope who broke the only two records that were broken at the Umvoti gala.

This past weekend Calista Muna and Dean Page played in the Dunlop Mini Series One tennis tournament in Durban. Calista finished third in the U14 age group and Dean finished fourth in the U16 gold.

Calista also had an excellent day of tennis at the Midlands trials, being seeded number one for the U15 Midlands team.

On a warm and sunny 26 February the Grade 3 class had their market day. We were ready for the first customers by 9.30amd all was sold out by 10am. More than R2 000 was made and we are incredibly excited to get something for our classroom. Thank you to everyone who came to support us and to some of the moms who painted exceptionally beautiful birds on our faces.

Application for scholarships for 2017 are now open. Application forms for new and reapplications are to be collected from, and handed in, at the office by 14 April.
