Window on Wembley

2016-11-09 06:00

WE are very excited to be hosting our second Colour Run on Saturday 19 November. We encourage the whole school, as well as the parents and all their friends, to support us this year.
The funds raised from this event will go towards the U13 and Open Hockey tours in 2017. This will make the tours slightly more affordable for parents of the players.
The pre-entry fee is R50 per adult and R40 for pupils, however, on the day the entry is R60. Bacon and egg rolls will be on sale throughout the morning. Please contact us at jpsport@wembley college.co.za or sport@ wembleycollege.co.za or sport2@wembleycollege.co. za for registration forms. Don’t miss out.

On Friday 28 October Grade 1 pupils went to Butterflies for Africa in Pietermaritzburg for a morning of interaction with nature.
Upon arrival pupils watched a documentary on the life cycle of the butterfly. Thereafter, everything discussed in class about insects came to life in the butterfly house.
The children had a peek at monkeys and iguanas, khoi fish, doves and parrots, as well as a turtle.
The picnic in the garden was pleasant, but dashing through the butterfly maze for almost an hour was just wonderful.

Wembley College would like to thank the following parents who made themselves available to be on the Wembley College PA for 2017 - Dieter Meyer (chairperson), Laverne Pieterse, Tanya Schneider, Elsie Fourie, Greg Hull, Jilly Hill and Laetitia Marais.
Please support them with their various fund-raising initiatives for 2017.
