WE would like to congratulate the swimmers who participated in the swimathon at the family fun day. These funds have been ploughed back into the school by purchasing two pace clocks. Swimmers as well as coaches will use these pace clocks for training purposes.

The Grade 6 and Form 1 classes walked around the perimeter of the school to look at plant invaders on Thursday before school broke up.

Mr Hutchinson first gave a lesson on invader species with examples and photos of three main invaders in our area. We tried to de-weed some areas and get rid of some invaders. We learnt the names of about seven invaders and how to recognise them in the veld. The pupils also cleared the school entrance of all the invaders and picked up litter there.

Wembley College would also like to thank Mr Connie Vermaak, TWK management and marketing team for their sponsorship of two sets of branded rugby pole protectors.

Thank you also to Mrs Louise Johnson for being the liaison person for this opportunity, your input and support of the school sport programme is of great value as this opens new doors for Wembley College to stand out even further.
