A bright new future for the iThemba Schools Campus in Hillcrest

2015-09-29 06:00

THE iThemba Schools Campus welcomes Waterfall Pre-Primary School and announces the opening of Waterfall Primary School in 2017.

From January 2016, The Waterfall Pre-Primary School (prep school) will be operational from exciting new facilities on the iThemba Campus in Hillcrest, KZN. This 48-acre site, planted with indigenous flora and fauna, has both spiritual heritage and striking beauty that has to be seen to be appreciated, with breath-taking panoramic views of the Valley of 1000 Hills.

The arrival of the prep school on the iThemba Campus completes the vision of a learning path for children from 12 months to 18 years (preschool to matric): pre-primary, primary and college.

It celebrates the creation of a new combined force in academic excellence for the Upper Highway community. The three schools will be working together under the iThemba Schools umbrella as a non-profit organisation to build one co-ordinated pathway for children all on one campus.

Waterfall Pre-Primary School brings with it a well-established operational model that has seen very positive results and overwhelming support from its existing and past parent base. It is for this reason that iThemba is delighted to have found such a reputable organisation to fill this important gap on the iThemba Campus. New facilities and attractive benefits such as meals and after-care facilities on a safe and secure campus will contribute to the fun-filled play learn and growing together school days.

This exciting new announcement to establish the Waterfall Primary School on the iThemba Campus as a feeder school is welcomed with the values of iThemba being most important. Its vision and values underpin iThemba’s teaching and learning and will provide an environment which prepares pupils to be confident and happy with a team dedicated to developing a generation of future leaders.

A city school in the country, where each element of the whole school and classroom practice is designed with an understanding of how children learn best at its heart, promoting the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. New facilities will be built after the pre-school building is complete providing a welcome expansion for the primary school, which introduces its first Grade 1 classes from 2017. From a high school perspective (Grade 8-12), Waterfall College brings an astounding track record to the table in its short history – a 100% Matric pass rate, of which 70% are Bachelor’s Degree passes with an IEB Matric, a dynamic leadership team, small classes (averaging 15 in a class) with subject specialist teachers, a thriving outdoor programme with leadership, service and outreach activities in a structured environment with a Christian ethos. Membership of ISASA and Umalusi accreditation are your assurance of a high quality education.

All the schools are officially registered by the KZN Department of Education. Children are taught in bright, friendly classrooms receiving personalised attention to stimulate young minds. With the care of loving teachers in small classes, time is set aside to focus on each child to grow his or her confidence and leadership skills. The development of a sound character and healthy values in children are a priority of all three schools on the iThemba Campus, thereby providing a strong foundation for life
