LAND Rover Durban Hillcrest Villagers Rugby Club hosted Harlequins Rugby Club on Saturday at their home grounds at the picturesque grounds of The Durban Shongweni Club.

In the main match of the afternoon, Villagers 1st XV truly and simply totally outclassed the and#034;Mighty Quinsand#034; 45-10. Villagers were relentless in their attack of the Quinsand#039; tryline. Tries went to Villagersand#039; fleetfooted-paceman, Alex Klewinghaus (4) and Mitch Coe (2), Brandon Waugh, with Coe kicking five conversions. Man of the Match went to Tommy Bezuidenhout (backs) and Mitch Coe (forwards)Villagers 2nd XV were equally, very impressive, posting a 32-19 score over their oppostion. Tries: Philip Carlitz (2); Ayanda Makatini; Wiseman Cele, and Gavin Muir, with Justin Eben adding two penalties and a conversion. Man of the match went to Phillip Calitz (backline) and Michael Diab (forwards) Earlier in the afternoon, Envirosan Villagers 3rds went down 41-27 to Varsity College OB, in a game which saw Villagers dominate many of the phases of the game, with a scoreline not really reflecting the game. Man of the Match went to Dylan Jones (forwards) and Brad Dammes (backline)Monday night sees Villagers 1st XV go into the Castle Lager-Murray Cup Knockout Draw, to be held at Growth Point Kings Park, in which they will be drawn to compete against a Premier Division Club, to be played at the Durban Shongweni Club, on the afternoon of Saturday 1 August.
