MERLE du Bois and the women from the Du Bois Gallery are raising funds for the Kloof and Highway SPCA. The artists will be exhibiting their work at the Kloof Village Mall Superspar forecourt from Thursday 24 September to Sunday 27 September.

The gallery has raised more than R6 000 for the Kloof and Highway SPCA. and hope to increase that amount considerably with this exhibition. The ladies are great animal lovers - domestic and wildlife - which is reflected in many of their paintings.

There are a variety of genres, suitable to most people’s taste and décor style. In addition, the paintings are well priced and affordable, and make wonderful gifts for friends and family, the office, reception areas, and corporate gifts.

Barbara Patrick, SPCA manager, said there will be paintings in oil or acrylic on canvas by various artists for sale at affordable prices. A portion of the takings will be donated to the SPCA.

Patrick urges the community to visit the exhibition and view the unique pieces of art.

“Remember, all paintings sold will not only be beneficial to the buyer, it will also benefit the animals in our care.

“Do come along and browse at leisure and add a sparkle to your day as you view their inspiring pictures, and hopefully buy one - or more.”

She said the Kloof and Highway SPCA relies on the community for funding as no government funding is received and encourages the community and volunteers to continue supporting it.

Ways that one can assist is with a monthly monetary donation or by donating unwanted goods. One can also support the fund-raisers held at the society, on Mondays and Saturdays.

“Every bit we receive helps.”
