THE Guild of St Mary’s Old Girls hosted their annual fundraiser, an Italian Banquet at Bellevue Café in association with Setzkorn Health and Wealth Consulting recently. The sumptuous Italian food co-ordinated by Chef, Chris Black, paired with fabulous wines organised by wine expert, Jan-Nico Coetzee, great music, festive company and a warm starry May evening, made for a fabulous night out.

On arrival guests were treated to music by the St Maryand#039;s DSG String Quartet. Boards of antipasti were enjoyed, as guests supported the fundraising initiative by purchasing surprize prizes ranging from weekend trips, art, jewellery, wine hampers, beauty treatments and more. A decadent Tiramisu finished off the four course meal and, with the tent open to the gorgeous evening, and candles and fairylights flickering, guests ended the evening on the dance floor.

Over R100 000 was raised for the St Mary’s Foundation Trust and this fundraising effort will contribute to ensuring that over a hundred years of tradition and their long history of academic excellence are maintained and enhanced for future generations of St Mary’s pupils.

A percentage of the funds raised will go towards the KZN Blind andamp; Deaf Society, a leading service provider in the field of Blindness and Deafness in KZN. The non-profit organisation strives to ensure that members of our Blind and Deaf community take their rightful place in society as members who contribute and benefit.

The St Mary’s DSG Old Girls’ Guild would like to extend a big thank you to the main sponsor Setzkorn Health and Wealth Consulting and associate sponsors Whispering Waters, Bioharmony, Pick n Pay and Bfor, as well as to their prize sponsors and guests. The event would not have been possible without their support.
